At the same time, they face immense pressure to make decisions about college, work, relationships, and finances.

Traffickers recruit in shopping malls, on social media, and even in school parking lots. They pose as romantic partners, talent scouts, or older friends offering a glamorous lifestyle. Once a teen is emotionally hooked, the trafficker slowly escalates demands — borrowing money, asking for “favors,” then forcing commercial sex.
