The film follows identical twins, Hallie Parker and Annie James, who were separated at birth when their parents divorced. Each parent took one twin; Hallie grew up in Napa Valley, California, while Annie grew up in London, England. They meet by chance at a summer camp and, after discovering their relationship, plot to switch places to meet the parent they never knew.
