By altering the header to say "Compression Method=0" (stored/not compressed) while the actual data is still in "Method=8" (DEFLATE/compressed), the security scanner reads junk data and misses the payload. Meanwhile, a custom loader ignores the header and decompresses the malicious file correctly. This shows that "bypassing ZIP" can also be a technique used by attackers to disguise malicious activity.
