With Apple’s continuous OS updates, the Heiti SC/PingFang family has remained stable since 2015. However, as variable fonts gain traction, we may see Apple introduce a single variable Heiti font where "Medium" becomes an axis value (wght=500) rather than a separate file. For now, Heiti SC Medium remains a rock-solid choice.
